Ali gets her ear's pierced!

So I have always been a believer that if you want to get a babies ears pierced the sooner the better. Well things have happened and I had to push it off. First I didn't want to do it around the same time of her shots because that was just cruel and then she got sick and then we were traveling and then time just slipped by .. well last week it finally happened.. Ali got her ears pierced.. I scheduled it on Monday and went in on June 30th to Sweet and Sassy. The store was empty so the sales lady and ear piercer gave us all her undivided attention.. she explained to us the process .. and waited for us to be ready.. she asked if we wanted to do one at a time or do a bam bam one time thing.. we went with the latter that way mom would only have to console baby girl one time.. and well.. the crying did come ..and it came ..and it was hard.. but then mom had the idea to walk in front of a mirror and lo and behold.. Ali stopped crying.. It's the girlie girl in her.. She smiled.. let out her last wimper and we were done.. So now we have a 6 month old with two ears that are pierced! Mega milestone Ali!

Ali before the ear piercing !

 Ali after the ear piercing!

I did dress her up because I thought that this was a big deal for a little girl! :) Well everything is big deal for my little girl! Yes I am that mom! Yes I am proud of it! lol!

Ali's Great Idaho Adventure

This past June 9th Ali and her parents flew to the great state of Idaho. Where Daddy Travis is from. First of all Ali was n excellent flier. I think mommy and daddy were more anxious about the flight than she was. The first time the plane started to ascend the pressure did become a little much for her little ears but after that she went to sleep and everything went smoothly. When we first arrived in Idaho we were met up by the sweet Gwen. She was such a sweet heart and she got to get in some snuggles with Ali. After the airport we went and spent the night at Travis' grandma's house.

Ali and Grandma Louise  It was love at first sight!

After a great night sleep we woke up and had breakfast with grandma .. Ali had her sweet potatoes and played with her toys and enjoyed the new scenery..

afterwards we finished our drive to Hazelton, ID. To Travis' hometown! Ali didn't want to snooze she was too excited to see grandma ! Here's a few pics
Then we finally made it! Ali and Grandma were together again! Don't they just look adorable together!
Ali is a natural Idahoan ! She fit right in! Hanging out with grandma and grandpa! Having a ball with all the guests at the barbecue. Sleeping in a little late.

Sunday morning Ali got to meet her great grandma Maxine. It was a quick hello because both grandma and grand daughter were a little tired !

Mom and Ali Acting silly

Overall we had an amazing time full of fun and love !! Ali loves spending time with her Idaho family and will be back real soon to enjoy new memories with everyone !!

Our Little Girl .. is not soo little any more.. Ali Turns 6 months old!

On  June 17th Ali turned 6 months old. Daddy and Mommy were sad to see the day come so soon because it felt like only yesterday we held her in our arms for the first time. But now she is such a big girl!

At 6 Months Ali has done the following:

  • Began eating solid foods
  • seating unassisted for a short periods of time
  • rolling over
  • teething
  • saying the word mama especially ma when crying
  • knows she can get away with getting picked up by crying
  • rolls over at night in her crib
  • wrestles with her bear in her crib
  • understands her name
  • has taken her first plane ride to see her grand parents and great grandmas
Ali has completely taken over our lives and hearts. She is the center of our lives and our happiness. We continue to pray for a healthy happy baby. She makes my heart smile every day and morning I am happy to wake up to her by my side even though she is pulling on my hair!
