Avocados, Sweet potatoes and bananas?! Oh My!

Ali has hit another milestone! 

She's officially eating solids! 

Well purees but still it's not milk! lol! She is so overjoyed! She no longer has to just depend on milk she gets to taste the sweet delicious fruits and veggies of this world. She started with Avocado when we went to lunch with Tia Helen!

Then Travis and I bought her Beech-nut baby food containers. She is in love. We are starting to suspect that Ali is not going to be a child we are going to have to beg to eat. She loves the stuff! She wishes she could feed herself bc mom is just not feeding her fast enough! lol!

Ali is two weeks away for 6 months but I could tell that milk was just not cutting it for her. And then she would stare at us while we had lunch and dinner! So here's to all the new flavors and tastes to come for this little foodie we have created! :) 

We're 5 Months OLD! Can you believe it?!

Can you believe it?! 

5 Months ago Ali was born! She has since .. learned how to turn over (she's only done it once ..but she's done it). She now knows how to hold her own bottle .. full bottle .. and can hold her head up better! She has given me the best mother's day present .. she said Mama on May 8th..not sure if she knew what she was saying or if she was just repeating what we were saying... She Can giggle a lot more..and wakes her parents up with a smile! I am not sure if she shows affection by sucking on our cheeks or if she is mimicking us kissing her cheeks... or she's trying to eat us ! lol!  

She has found her feet and she never wants to lose sight of them! She even cried one time at baby float class bc she could not reach for them! 

She now weighs 17 - 18 pounds! Almost the same weight as a few of our cousins and friends who are much older! We are happy to report we are healthy! 

Ali has been able to join me at work a few times because of life events! She is the center attention when she is here! 

She has started standing up by hanging on the back of the couch. Even holding her weight as she dangled on. Silly Baby! 

Sweet Ali, 

Mommy and daddy love you so much. We can not imagine how we got about our lives with out you. We are now complete having you at home with us. With the late nights and early mornings we consider ourselves very lucky. You are a very determined and independent young lady and show us this everyday. Continue to conquer the world baby girl because Mommy and Daddy will give you all the tools and skills you will need to get there! 

Our Busy Weekend

Here are a few snaps shots from our past weekend.

We got to celebrate two birthdays for our Cinco de Mayo babies. One was for my special little guy Andres and the second one as for my sweet friend Angela's baby Yunnin. They were both born on the same day at different times but still the same holiday Cinco De Mayo!

 We then had a great home game for our Houston Dynamo. We won! Thank goodness! WE soo needed the win! Ali had a great first half and after the first half she was ready to call it a night.

On sunday we celebrated Mother's day and Ali wore a beautiful pink dress. But as Daddy and I were getting ready I didn't want anything to happen to the dress sooo Ali got to stay a la nude! She loved it! 

My first Mother's Day

 This year was my first mother's Day with my little one by my side. Last year Travis and I were still holding in the secret so we celebrated a pre-mother's day at home.

 Watching my little girl grow up day after day is the only gift I want and need. She is the greatest surprise I could have ever gotten. But I do have a very generous best friend and husband who knows how to take my breath away. This mom got a little spoiled on Sunday with breakfast in bed, flowers and a berries delivery. We also got to celebrate with my mom. I love seeing how my mom got to celebrate her first mother's day as a mom and a grandmother. She's so in love. I thank God for letting my mom walk with me in this new journey. I don't know what I would with out her.

Ali is determined

Ali has been trying for a few weeks to turn over .. Well today she is saying I am going to do this..she is restless and wants to flip over so much.. She gets frustrated but tries again and..soon baby girl soon

Four Months ! A third of a year! Where has the time gone?!

 I can't believe I have a 4 month old daughter! She is everything I never knew I wanted! She is so sweet and sassy at the same time! On April 17th she spent the morning with her daddy! She was such a good girl! She even slept on his shoulder! Something she would only do with mommy! Daddy was so proud! The next day we had an appointment with her pediatrician but we had about 16 inches of rain fall all over Houston. It was a site to see! So we had our appointment cancelled. So we were rescheduled to April 20th! My big girl had her 4 month shots. She cried until mommy picked her up! After that it was only mommy crying!

At this time Aliyana loves bath time, her mommaroo and her rocker! She fights with her friends bc they don't play back with her. She thinks Jazz and Stella are amusing.

She can't wait to run to them and terrorize them lol. She has begun trying to turn over but still has not gotten there. She does get frustrated when it doesn't go her way! Hopefully in a few weeks we can add it to her things she has mastered! She continues to go to Baby Float class and she loves the water! Soon she will meet the ocean and fall in love like mommy and daddy!
